IRBMA BOARD MEETING:
MAY 13, 2003 CONFERENCE CALL

President, Linda Myers called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. Those present were: Linda Myers, Karen Shacklette, Deb Overcash, Linda Wilgus, and Cathy West.

The objectives of the meeting were to plan the programs for the August 20, 2003 and November 19, 2003 meetings.

For the August 20, 2003 meeting, Linda Wilgus will check the availability of Northwest Radiology's Conference Room for the location of the meeting and contact possible speakers from Adminastar with knowledge of HIPAA Security. Karen Shacklette will contact a representative from Anthem to speak on the same subject. Linda Myers will contact John Cergnul about speaking on the future of radiology and partnering with other medical specialists. Deb Overcash will contact Larry Balmer to facilitate a discussion on the progress of HIPAA Privacy. Notices will go out in June, after arrangements are finalized.

There was discussion about replacing two board members whose terms are up in 2003. Linda Wilgus has agreed to remain for another term. Mark Reynolds will be asked to continue for another term. Susan Wiseman will be contacted to verify if she is to finish her term. Other members of the IRBMA will be contacted for filling the open positions.

For the November 19, 2003 meeting, a coding seminar will be presented in conjunction with the ISMA. There was discussion about speakers and what areas of radiology to cover during the session. It was decided to concentrate on basic radiology and radiation oncology coding. The first choices for speakers were Walt Blackham and Jeff Majchrak. The RCCB will be contacted for accreditation. Linda Myers will contact Meg Patton from the ISMA to discuss all the arrangements.

The next conference call of the IRBMA Board Members is scheduled for June 17, 2003.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM.
